Terms of Service

Effective date: July 4, 2026
Note from Bootright: This is a plain-language terms of service written to honestly describe the deal between you and Bootright. It is a starting template, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before relying on it, especially once real payments are flowing.

Welcome to Bootright. These Terms are the agreement between you and Brandon Corliss ("Bootright," "we," "us") for use of the Bootright app and website. By using Bootright, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

What Bootright is (and isn't)

Bootright is an honest, budget-first coaching tool that helps you think through and take steps toward starting a small business. It gives you education, structure, planning tools, and AI-assisted guidance.

Bootright is not professional advice. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and using it does not create any professional or fiduciary relationship. For decisions with real money or legal consequences, talk to a qualified professional.

We do not promise income, results, or success. Starting a business is hard and most of the outcome depends on you and factors outside anyone's control. Nothing in Bootright is a guarantee that you'll make money, break even, or succeed. Any numbers, examples, or projections are illustrations, not promises.

Your account

Acceptable use

Don't: break the law with Bootright; copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the app or its content; reverse-engineer it; abuse, overload, or attack the service; or misuse the AI features (for example, to generate harmful or deceptive content). We may suspend or end accounts that do.

AI-generated guidance

Bootright's agents use AI to produce suggestions, plans, links, and how-to steps. AI output can be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, and links or prices it mentions can change. Verify before you rely on anything, especially prices, legal or tax points, and local market facts. You're responsible for your own decisions and actions.

Affiliate links and recommendations

Some tools we recommend include affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up or buy, at no extra cost to you. We only list tools we'd actually use, we always show a free or cheaper option where one exists, and we label affiliate links. We are never paid to fake or bias a recommendation.

Subscriptions and payments

Your content

You keep ownership of the information and content you put into Bootright (your plans, entries, commitments). You give us permission to store and process it as needed to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our content

Bootright, including its design, code, text, and branding, belongs to us. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. Don't copy or reuse it beyond that.

Disclaimers

Bootright is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result or income will follow from using it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Bootright and Brandon Corliss are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost business, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

Indemnification

You agree to cover claims and costs arising from your misuse of Bootright or your violation of these Terms, to the extent allowed by law.

Termination

You can stop using Bootright and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or to protect the service. Sections that by nature should survive (like disclaimers and limitation of liability) survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Bootright evolves. We'll update the effective date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use Bootright after changes means you accept them.
